This painting marks the beginning of my fascination with peels and skins: wrappings and discarded objects. These are chicken skins elevated to the level of personhood, or rather humans lowered to the status of objects. They approach figural representation and are moved easily by a thin stream of water. 
This work reflects feeling burnt out or like refuse that is used and then abandoned, flesh that lacks soul or a shell of a former self.
